Dear Blog,
it's Friday. It's the Book Blogosphere. Which means the Book Blogger Hop (yay!) , hosted by Jennifer over at Crazy For Books. Every week, as well as the Linky, those participating suggest questions for you to answer in your Hop post. This week the question is:
Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what are your favorite reading tunes?
My answer: I don't tend to intentionally listen to music and read at the same time. This is mostly because I'm one of those people who likes songs with meaningful lyrics, and to my mind they're the best part. if I'm reading, I can't listen properly to the words, and if I'm listening to music then I sort of get distracted from the book. That said, I quite like classical music (a teenager who likes classical music? Who isn't the fictional imagining of an author? Can this be true? *gasps*), so occasionally I put a bit of Carulli or Vivaldi on my iPod speakers and listen to their music.
Anyway. Enough of my ramblings. Hop forth, book bloggers!

Book Blogger Hop!
Dear Blog,
the book blogger hop returns as it does every Friday, hosted by Jennifer of Crazy for Books. Which means yay!
Each week a question is posted for those leaving their link to answer. This week's question is:
RIGHT THIS INSTANT, WHAT BOOK ARE YOU DYING TO GET YOUR HANDS ON (PAST, PRESENT, OR FUTURE)?
Answer:
Past (2009 or older): Winter of Peril by Jan Andrews, Burned by Ellen Hopkins and This is All by Aidan Chambers
Present (released earlier this year): Dirty Little Secrets by C.J Omololu, Three Rivers Rising by Jame Richards and Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok (all of which haven't come out here in the sceptr'd isle yet)
Future (not yet released): Bright Young Things by Anna Godbersen, volume 4 of the Translucent manga series by Kazuhiro Okamoto, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins, The Fences Between Us by Kirby Larson, and Aurora by Julie Bertagna.
While I'm here I may as well say that I'll post today's Foreign Language Friday entry this evening :D .
So there you go. Hop forth, book bloggers!

Book Blogger Hop!
the Book Blogger Hop returns as ever, hosted by Jen of Crazy for Books fame.
This week's question is:
Tell us about some of your favorite authors and why they are your favorites!
My answer:
Heh. This is a very hard question. Well, to my mind Celia Rees and Mary Hooper are the absolute masters of YA historical fiction. You cannot claim to be a historical fiction fan without having read at least one of their books. They're exciting, the protagonists are believable and easy to relate to, and it's pretty much always historically accurate.
I don't tend to read much contemporary fiction, but I'm a huuuuge fan of Sarah Dessen. Lian Hearn writes fantastic samurai/fantasy/romance books, Garth Nix is the ruler of YA Fantasy, and I look up to Geraldine McCaughrean as a writer because she has the ability to write about everything from every genre.
Anyway. Hop forth, bloggers. Let the fun begin.
PS I'm here today, so I'll post the Foreign Language Friday entry for today this evening :D

Book Blogger Hop!
Dear Blog,
it's Friday again, and with that comes the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Jennifer of Crazy for Books. This week she's added a twist to the Hop, so each week in your Hop blog post you have to answer a question that she's asked.
This weeks question is:
Tell us your name and why you started blogging.
So, well, my answer is:
My names Tez (well, actually, Tez is short for Tesni, the Welsh word for "warmth", but nobody really calls me that and it will annoy me if you do), and I read as many book blogs as I did books. I already had a blog, but it wasn't a blog about one subject in particular and was just rambling about my life in a boring sort of way. A combination of the two resulted in me realising that books were really the only thing that I cared about blogging about, and voila! Here I am.
Alas, today there shall most likely be no Foreign Language Friday because I'm going out all day and I won't be back until very late. Oh well. Worry not, because I've been through a copy of The Ultimate Teen Book Guide marking out all the foreign-language novels so I shouldn't really run out of good ones for a while.
Anywho, I have to go. Hop onwards, book bloggers.

Book Blogger Hop
Dear Blog,
I thought I might participate in the Book Blogger Hop this week. I've never participated but it looks like fun and a good way to discover cool blogs I wouldn't have come across otherwise.
It's hosted over at Crazy for Books. *reccomends all those who haven't to join*.
So, well, I'm supposed to make a post telling you that if you followed my link from the Mr. Linky, you've come to the right place, etc. etc. So here I am *waves*.
*goes off to read new blogs*
